Here's how my tabs are written.                    

1.  All notes are the basic note on the instrument.  If the note is                                                                                   
    an octave higher, then there will be a (1) by the note.  If the 
    note is two octaves higher, there will be a (2) by it.  I think 
    you get the picture.  If the note is an octave lower, than the 
    number in the parentheses will be negative.
2.  Sharps are written as "+" and flats are written as "-".  So 
    "F sharp" is written "F+".
